Make sure your gutters are working properly and are diverting water away from your foundation. You should also make sure all leaky pipes and air conditioning units are repaired adequately.  

3. Debris and other vegetation can attract termites, so keep things like wood piles, cardboard boxes, newspapers, ivy, and overgrown vegetation away from your property. Mulch can also attract termites, so use this soil sparingly, make sure it's not in contact with wood siding or window framings, and make sure installation is done properly.
